The European Digital Infrastructure Consortium for Agri-Food (EDIC for Agri-Food) has officially been established with its seat in Paris with a launch event convened by Ms Annie Genevard, French Minister of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Food Sovereignty member countries, the Commission and stakeholders from across the agri-food supply chain.

The EDIC for Agri-Food brings together Austria, Croatia, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and the region of Flanders alongside observers Germany, Ireland, Latvia and Spain.

One of the first missions of the EDIC for Agri-Food will be to develop a common Digital Farm ID. As farms and other agricultural actors adopt data-driven digital innovations, the EDIC for Agri-Food will promote common European approaches and interoperable solutions, helping to build a more resilient and digitally sovereign European agri-food sector.

The Digital Farm ID fits into the wider work on the European Digital Identity (EUDI) ecosystem. Where relevant, the Digital Farm ID will align with the technical solutions developed within the EUDI Wallet ecosystem, including the European Business Wallets.
