EPN Consulting R&I unveils its study on Horizon Europe performance per country

2 minute read / September 2, 2024

We are happy to announce the release of the research work we carried out in Spring 2024 about Horizon Europe statistics and analysis of successful of the number of projects approved in each of the 27 EU member states concerning the 6 clusters as well as the EIC Accelerator.

The analyses also takes into account each country’s GNI (Gross National Income) and number of inhabitants to have a clearer size of impact of the number of projects approved.

We chose GNI instead of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) as the latter refers to the income generated by production activities on the economic territory of the country, while the former measures the income generated by the residents of a country, whether earned in the domestic territory or abroad.

The methodology of this study is well described in the introduction and results include what was available up to 08 April 2024 on the several European Commission websites.

The work was carried out by our CEO Stefano Mainero and Allison Wisniewski who spent the first semester 2024 doing her internship in our Dublin office. This was possible thanks to the participation of EPN Consulting Research & Innovation in the Global Co-Op program of the Boston-based Northeastern University.

Our study is currently not available for purchase, but it will be part of the benefits of the EPN Consulting International Network GOLD Members. If you are not a Gold member or you would like to upgrade, we are happy to enrol you ASAP!

Stefano Mainero expresses big thanks to Allison for the accurate work carried out and the constructive curiosity used to search and cross data from several sources.

P.S. One study more is in the pipeline and will be available in the next weeks. Stay tuned!
